VISTORS CENTER DEDICATION

 A SPECIAL INVITATION

A frequent question in the Village of Eagle has been
“WHAT IS THAT PIZZA HUT LOOKING BUILDING AT THE MERGE OF HWYS 59 AND 67?” and “WHEN IS IT GOING TO OPEN?” Here is the Answer!

The building is a scale replica of the old Eagle Train Depot. It sits northeast of the original on the site of what was once the Jail and then the first waterworks.

When the new wells made the waterworks obsolete, the question of what to do with the site arose and presented many challenges. A Committee was formed and the result was the idea of having a Visitor’s Information Center. Along with increased parking and a general upgrade of the area, a theme was envisioned that could serve to motivate further interest in the Village Center area.

The Lions Club stepped forward and donated the building and labor with the American Legion, The Kettle and Century-Tel partnering with the Village on paving and drainage improvements.

While designed in the depot style, the center has an open concept where displays, notices, maps and approved advertising can be shown.

The dedication of the Visitors Center will be at NOON
SATURDAY – OCTOBER 18, 2008

The Lions Club will formally turn the building over to the Village of Eagle during a short program.

Refreshments will be served courtesy of SUHMER’S SALOON.

The project is an example of Civic improvement with minimum taxpayer cost. Please show your appreciation by attending the OCTOBER 18TH dedication ceremony.

Questions on the Visitors Center can referred to Darlene at the Village Office, 594-3400, where they will be routed to the appropriate Committee or Group.
